Q. How would you describe your style of Photography?
A. My style is a combination of classic and dynamic. I am an energetic romantic who strives to bring out the excitement in my clients. My style is more than what you can see in the finished image. It's also an experience.
Q. What should I wear for my Portrait Session?
A. Wear what you are comfortable in, and what best represents you. I usually tell my clients that bold patterns tend to be too busy in an image because when someone looks at your portraits you want their eyes to look at your faces first, not your striped dress or the writing on your shirt. Dark colors are always more flattering than white, unless you're super tan. And unless you absolutely love your arms, don't wear anything sleeveless. Those three guidelines will keep most clients from accidentally wear something they might later regret.
Q. Where are you located?
A. My studio is located at 121 East Shepherd Ave in downtown Lufkin, Texas. However, I love to travel for sessions, weddings or any reason what so ever!
Q. What happens in the case of inclement weather or emergencies?
A. For portrait sessions: If we have to reschedule, I always put the client first. We just choose the next available date that works for everyone and I move the appointment. There is no rescheduling fee. I simply keep your prepaid session fee as a credit in your name for when we do your session.
For Weddings: In the event of cancellation or postponement of the wedding, the retainer fee is non-refundable. If your new wedding date is available, I will apply your retainer to the new date.
Q. What happens after our Portrait Session or Wedding?
A. For local clients: A few days after your portrait session, you come in for your scheduled order session. This is the awesome part when you get to kick back and watch a slideshow set to music of your best images. This is also when you get to look at samples of wall art, designer art panels, custom designed photocover albums and much more! You want to bring anyone who might have a part in the decision making process with you since this is when you decide which images will be printed and what products you'd like to purchase. At the end of your order session you pay the first half of your balance. You can pay the other half when I deliver the finished order to you or you pick it up. Turn around time is usually 4-6 weeks depending on which products were purchased.
For out of town clients: A few days after your portrait session, I'll send you a link to view your best images from your session and place your order online. Full payment is due at checkout and you can expect to receive your order within 4-6 weeks depending on which products were purchased.
For weddings: A digital collection of previews from your wedding will be available three weeks later. You will use this collection to select your favorite images for your wedding collection, reprints and albums for friends and family.
- Reprints and additional albums may be purchased at 10% off original a la carte pricing.
- Additional album images may be added for $15 each.
Q. Do you include retouching of portraits?
A. All ordered images are professionally retouched before being printed and presented to the client. I don't use Photoshop actions or plug ins to create an automatic softness over the skin, because I've found it doesn't look real. I retouch all skin, stray hairs, and other flaws one at a time in Photoshop with a combination of different tools and layers. My goal is for you to look flawless, but still like yourself. I've never had an unhappy customer. I do specialized retouching when needed, such as liquifying or "skinnying" of arms, legs or waist lines. And of course, if there is ever a power line or an exit sign I couldn't manage to avoid in my shot, I make sure to remove it.
Q. Do you offer Digital Prints or CDs?
A. I do sell high resolution retouched images with print releases. And of course, all finished orders include a digital copy of your retouched ordered images in low resolution for sharing online, and viewing on your phone or other devices. For weddings, all collections include your favorite images retouched, high resolution on a CD or jump drive.
Q. How do I book you?
A. It's easy! Let's talk! Go to the Contact Page to submit an inquiry, or you can go ahead and Click Here to Schedule Your Consultation at my downtown Lufkin studio.
For portrait clients, the session fee is due at the time of booking. Session fees are to pay for the actual session time and do not apply to your print order. For weddings, a retainer of 25% and a signed wedding agreement are required to schedule your wedding coverage. This retainer is applied to the balance of your wedding package. The balance of your wedding package plus sales tax is due at least one month before your wedding date.
